Le Coq Sportif Confirmed As New Kit Supplier
As had been reported for quite some time in the media, on the messageboards and by sportswear chains, our Club today announced that Le Coq Sportif would be the new official kit supplier, after entering into a four year agreement worth a reported £10m.
The new agreement appears to be a good deal at double the value of the current agreement with the outgoing Reebok.
In addition, it was also confirmed that, as part of the agreement fashion brands Sergio Tacchini and Ecko would be supplied to the Club's players and available to supporters. It was also confirmed that Reebok City would be renamed Citystore.
In a good move for supporters, it was announced that the new kit would be competitively priced, so much so that it would be the best priced in the Premiership with adult shirts on sale for £30 and junior shirts on sale for £19.
What do you think?

personally I like the shirt, only hope to see away shirt becoming red and black stripes again.
Price, surprisingly somewhere somebody is thinking of the fans.
The style is '1980s dinner lady does surgery in her spare time'. Poor Johnson looks like he's been held up by masked gunmen in the car park and made to put it on or else.
well, it looks less gay than last seasons (06/07). hoping for a red and black stripes away kit
The blue is lighter, more sky-blue which I like, The shorts are white & sleeves blue, which is good news. Not sure about the pinstripe,or the badge being in the middle though.
looks ok i suppose, sponser is a bit big and so is the badge. doesn't really look like a football shirt tho! need a proper look to see the material...
The badge was in the middle when we were with Le Coq before iirc.
I do think the Thomas Cook looks too big though, maybe it should be a bit lower down? Also not sure about the LCS logo on the shoulder which just looks a bit weird.
Is Michael Johnson old enough to have a tatoo?
he looks about 12 on that picture! maybe they are just rub-on transfers from the sweet shop.
why is the Sponser and Badge so BIG?
shirt looks o.k and may be members of the city board do read this blog as they have, lowered the cost of the shirts to compete with j.j.b and sports soccer shops as i suggested several weeks ago...as for the photo of micheal johnson...is that a nike ball hes holding.. surely they should have used a le coq ball??? someone as made a big le coq up with that photo????
DONT LIKE IT. AWFUL.
LOOKS LIKE A SHIRT FROM THE SHADY 80'S. THE ADIDAS DESIGN WAS 10 TIMES BETTER. AND WHERE IN THE HELL DID LE CRAP SPORTIF GET TEN MILLION FROM? WILL THE CLUB SEE ANY OF THAT MONEY? CHAVS R US.
THANK YOU CITY, YOU HAVE SAVED ME MONEY, CAUSE I AINT BUYING THAT DIVISION 2 KIT!
It makes me laugh when people say things like "the adidas design was 10 times better." There was no adidas design. It was a photoshop job that someone admitted to doing on mancityfans.net. Adidas may very well have shown designs to the club, but they never made the light of day. Even if they had shown designs to the club, they almost certainly would NOT have looked like the mock-ups that circulated, considering both of them used old adidas templates (the new templates are awful, I might add).
Additionally, there is probably little chance that a company like Adidas would even allow the club to sell them at the price that Le Coq is allowing, nor would they be willing to pay what Le Coq did. This was obviously a good deal for the club, it's a good deal for the fans, and it's a very fine, traditional, unique-looking shirt - as opposed to the insta-kit nonsense that we most certainly would have gotten from a different kit company.
Soft touch written all over it. It'll really only dawn on us how awful it is after a 1 nil home defeat to say Sunderland in August.
The AWAY KIT is the same as the home one except it's purple.
