UEFA Wants Fans To Have Voice Whilst Big Clubs Plan Breakaway

Two interesting stories have surfaced over the last few days.

Michel Platini/ UEFA have announced plans to give fans an official say in the running of football. More of this story here.

The Guardian, meanwhile, report of a secret meeting of "top" clubs looking to lead a breakaway if UEFA & FIFA "run wild" in their governance of the game. Their story can be read here.

Would be a great idea! Get rid of all the top 4 and we'd have a competitive league!

I can see plenty of positives about them breaking away. For one, if I look for Premiership news, I won't have to see headlines regarding any of the clubs that abandoned it. Secondly, if the league consists entirely of elite clubs, a few of them will inevitably have to have awful records and finish last. How great would it be to see United at the bottom of any table?

Not too sure if my logic is fuzzy on this, but...

If UEFA/FIFA were dead against this wouldn't it be easy to blow it apart in one pen stroke?

As they control the internationals and the World Cup, could they not ban any player from all international competition that takes part in a break-away league?

I know they are a mercenary bunch, but the best European players I'm sure are desperate for a World Cup Winner's medal?
